Starfish Class - EYFS and Year 1
Starfish Class is the first of three classes at Grade-Ruan School where Reception and Year 1 children are taught together. This helps to create a "family feeling" and activities can be provided according to invidividual needs.
See below for this term's class newsletter and learning overview.
The class teachers are Sandra Birchmore and Alison Goldsack, assisted by Sue Codling and Kate Phillips. All are very experienced practitioners. Grade-Ruan is also a training school for a number of teacher training schemes, so we often have student teachers working with us. Depending on the size and needs of the class, we sometimes have another teaching assistant working with us for part of the day. The Head Teacher often pops into the classroom to get to know the children.
Our school secretary, Mrs Amanda Walsh-Newton, is in the school office and can answer queries about policies, forms, events, uniform, school dinners etc.
A more comprehensive break down can be found in the Grade Ruan Welcome Booklet for Parents - see the link below.
If your child is in Starfish Class, you can use your parent login to view the class page and find more information and photos of what the children are working on.
