Welcome to Grade-Ruan C of E
Grade-Ruan Church of England School has an excellent reputation in the local area. The last OFSTED Inspection (January 2017) found Grade-Ruan to be "a GOOD school". The OFSTED report highlighted that "The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education" and noted that Grade Ruan School is "a welcoming and nurturing school with high expectations of behaviour and academic achievement".
The most recent Church inspection of Grade-Ruan (July 2015) noted that "the school, through its distinctive Christian character, is OUTSTANDING at meeting the needs of all learners".
The school prides itself on its levels of academic achievement as well as an extensive programme of care and support. The Christian ethos of the school permeates all areas of school life and is highly valued by children, parents and staff.
In September 2011 the school formed a partnership with three other local schools - Coverack, St Keverne and Manaccan. During the Summer Term 2013 St Martin School joined making us a five school partnership. Working together means that the Governors of Grade-Ruan are able to secure the school's future during the current uncertainty surrounding funding for small schools. It also offers our children wider opportunities with regards to sport, music, school visits and much more. The new partnership has had a very positive impact on our school. Mrs Sherlock is the Acting Headteacher over our five school partnership and her designated day at Grade-Ruan is on a Friday.
In March 2014, the five schools partnership became KESKOWETHYANS Multi Academy Trust.
